Summer 2016 Update: Nordia has a new Nook in the Cushman Gallery. This placement of her work affords the opportunity to display all the pieces that were donated by her husband, Manny to the MAA in one area together. Priced reasonably there are wonderful scenes to be purchased. Take a Nordia home with you and benefit the MAA at the same time.
Numerous watercolor works by the late Marblehead watercolorist, Nordia Kay, are currently on display, in a newly dedicated area of the King Hooper Mansion entitled “Nordia’s Nook.” On the second floor of the Mansion in between the two front galleries, several of Nordia’s framed works are hanging on display and offered for sale through a silent auction. In addition to the hanging works, there is a bin of unframed work for sale at any time. Nordia’s work will rotate every six weeks and will be grouped and hung based on theme. The works currently hanging are categorized as “floral paintings”. Some of the other themes intended for a six week cycle will be: lighthouses, landscapes, seascapes and figurative work.
